Downtown Tampa summer day camp for kids who have finished kindergarten, running ten weeks from early June to early August, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free supervision from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Besides the rotating signature camp, weeks can be booked as swim, art or basketball camps, with an adaptive camp for ages 6-13 and a junior lifeguard course for young teens. Register by the week online.
Campers at the Central City branch on Palm Avenue rotate through swimming, STEM, arts and crafts and games in the signature camp, or sign up for themed weeks built around swim instruction, art or basketball. Several of the themed camps also come as a morning half-day.
The branch hosts one of the Tampa Y's adaptive camps for children ages 6 to 13 with disabilities, which runs 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a two-week junior lifeguard program for ages 14 and 15. A $10 per week deposit holds a spot, and payment is drawn two weeks before each camp week.
