See if kids you know are going to this camp.
A low-cost city day camp for ages 6 to 12 at Emmett Reed Community Center in Mid-Westside near Durkeeville, running in two-week sessions from mid-June to late July. This site follows a sports track that puts extra time into active games, mixed with sports, crafts, games and field trips, and lunch and snacks are included.
JaxParks runs its summer day enrichment camp at Emmett Reed Community Center from 8am to 5pm on weekdays, split into three two-week sessions between June 15 and July 24 (closed for Juneteenth and Independence Day). Each JaxParks site is assigned a theme, and this one is on the sports track, so campers get a heavier sports emphasis on top of the usual sports, arts and crafts, games and field trips; past trips have included the Jacksonville Zoo, Skate Station and Camp Deep Pond.
A session costs $95 plus a $20 non-refundable fee, and extended care from 7 to 8am and 5 to 6pm is an extra $20 per session. The city provides lunch and snacks (families send breakfast). Registration opens in early May online through JaxParks or by phone, and Duval County residents can enter a voucher lottery in the spring for help with fees.
